Ara or Raksi, is a traditional spirit distilled typically from millet or rice. It is usually produced at home or by rustic small scale distillers by pot distillation of a fermented slurry.
It is not aged before consumption and is a clear strong liquor.
Ara (Raksi) is traditionally an important requirement at a lot of religious rituals and social events.
